Newsflash

Hello, sorry for the delay in news. Anyway, ice fishing will obviously begin in a few weeks and people will immediately hit the ice to try to catch some delicious perch or walleye. Good luck and don't fall through.

Hey there. Hunting season starts in about 2 weeks. Hopefully, all of you have at least been to your blind or treestand once since last November. Make sure you don't leave too much scent so that the deer don't realize you are there. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

Hey there. Downrigging is just starting to happen up here. However, it will pick up very soon, as the salmon will begin to run.

.

Fishing will begin soon as will downrigging. As soon is the ice is gone, there will be people out on Lakes around the area, fishing for just about everything. The steelhead and salmon will start running soon and downrigging will begin.

Well, nothing is really happening around Northern Michigan right now. The ski resorts are open and there is no sports happening right now. Since there is no ice, there is no ice fishing. Things are in a duldrum.

Well, Firearm season gets over today, and soon, the archers and muzzeloaders will hit the woods. There will be a muzzleloading season next week, and the archery season starts after that is finished. Remember, if you have hunting pictures,  please send them to us and we will try to add them to our site. Thanks!

Firearms deer season starts tommorow and we all know what that means! Soon, the hunters will take to the woods and start to search for the great buck of their dreams. We, too will be heading out tommorow, to the stand which has been hunted out of for many decades. With that, be safe, and most of all, Good Luck!

11/4/06 The bow seasons are just about over, but right after that, there is the November firearm deer season. That starts on November 15, a Wednesday. That lasts for 15 days, until the 30th. After that there is the muzzleloading season. That pretty much ends the hunting season for the year. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tommorow starts the adults turn to hunt deer. Those over 12 can bait and hunt with a bow. The season runs from Oct.1 to November 14. After that, the day after it ends, the firearm season begins. Lastly, there is the muzzleloader season.

Sept. 27 ,2006 This weekend starts the fall bow season for deer. Last weekend, the youths took a nice number of deer. So, in short, get out there and bow hunt as much as you can. Hunt Safe!

Sept. 21, 2006 This weekend officially kicks off the deer hunting season. The youth seson is this weekend, but the first bow season starts next weekend. After that is done, the November deer season is on for 15 days. Youths 14 and older may hunt in this in Michigan. After that, Muzzle loading, and finally, after that is the winter bow season. That is pretty much the whole deer hunting opportunities list. Hunt safe!

Sept. 13, 2006 With Youth and bow season just around the corner, this really signals summers end. Anyway, be sure to get your kids their hunters saftey classes, get them their licenses, and get them in the woods, to keep alive a tradition that has been around since the Natives were here.

August 9, 2006 Fishing in Northern Micigan has slowed once again. Salmon are being picked up anywhere from 60-140 feet. You can catch lake trout and a few salmon on bottom, but not  many. All fish are hitting spoons.
